Founded in Frederick, MD in 2003, ZA+D is a full-service architectural firm of professionals whose diversity and experience enables us to handle the most complex and challenging projects while meeting the needs of our clients.

This has resulted in long-term client relationships, and buildings that have positively impacted people’s lives and the environment.

Because our focus is on agency-intensive and community-oriented projects, most of our clientele includes non-profit entities, schools, and local government authorities. Additionally, we work on retail / commercial and custom residential projects. We possess expertise with new construction as well as the renovation, rehabilitation, and adaptive re-use of existing structures, including those of historical significance; our own office was housed in an historic building for the first 18 years of existence along with several projects involving the rehabilitation of historic structures have earned the firm awards of recognition.
