Ivy City Passive Townhouses

Now under construction, this project, overseen by DC Habitat seeks to place six (6) row houses, constituting two (2) separate sticks of dwellings within the historic yet blighted NE, DC neighborhood known as Ivy City.  In partnership with the Districts’ Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD) and Property Acquisition and Disposition Division (PADD) arm, Habitat, is working to infill previously developed parcels within three blocks of early 20th Century workforce housing.  The fee-simple, townhouse buildings consist of two-story, three bedroom, one-and-a-half baths within 1,680 gross square feet.

Habitat has approached this project to set precedent for non-profit developers and builders to meld the “deep green” building standard of Passive House with the mantra of “Simple, Decent, and Affordable.”
